While on whirlwind DC tour with family, stopped in for lunch. Food was good and plenty of it. Great place for kids even amongst the DC suit crowd. Service outstanding. Agree with the recommendation for the pepper dip appetizer. Awesome.
In-house brew is a sold choice! You HAVE to get the roasted pepper dip!

Awesome beer and liquor selection. Great friendly staff, and second best burgers in DC. Very laid back, lots of seating avaible. Food is a little over priced, other than that a perfect pub.

I know I just gave Siroc 5 starts, but this is in a different category. Bullfeathers is my new go-to in DC. Having just moved to the area, I was fortunate to find this oasis. The number of beers on tap alone deserves note. Please don’t order a generic here. The staff is knowledgeable so just ask what they recommend.
GOOSE!!! is the man. He was recently promoted to a manager but still appears as a bartender many evenings. What a good guy. He definitely has fun with his job and is extremely welcoming.
I usually just drink here, but I have also had a little experience with their food. Burger = great. Burgers are so simple, yet for some reason it is difficult to find a good one when you are out to eat. Bullfeathers definitely has this down. Wings = authentic. As an Upstate New Yorker I know and take pride in my knowledge of good wings. If I were paying attention I would have ordered them extra crispy (my usual). Regardless, they were pretty exceptional. I would be willing to bet they use Franks. Again, this is something pretty easy that most places screw up. Calamari = good. The breading doesn’t quit stick right, but it is definitely fresh, quality calamari. Pizza = you can probably skip this. The cheese is waaaaaay off. It is one of those take a bite and everything comes with experiences.
Despite the pizza, Bullfeathers gets a 5. If you live on the hill or are visiting for the day, stop by and enjoy this neighborhood gem.

I loved this place! Friends and I went to lunch here on a Friday, and although it was pretty full, we were seated and attended to quickly. The atmosphere was fun, and the food was delicious. I HIGHLY recommend the Patty Melt. All my friends were happy with their meals as well.
Really reasonable prices for the meal, too. Patty + Coke = $14
Love it, will definitely go back.

Never got a chance to check out the old bullfeathers, but i was pretty impressed with the new one. I thought the atmosphere was great, and the waitress we had was very friendly. I forgot the name of the burger I had, but it was loaded with cheese, onions, bacon, bbq sauce, coleslaw… and it was DELICIOUS… and huge. Good fries too. They also do beer flights, which I thought was something a little different, and great because of their draft selection.
Just glancing at the rest of the menu it seemed like they had a few other options that you’re not going to find at other places in DC. Do yourself a favor and get a milkshake… I had the captain crunch one and will be heading back if only to get that again.

I love the new Bullfeathers. The renovations are great, it’s bright and inviting. I think the food is excellent, a level above the regular pub fare. The beer selection is fantastic! 31 beers on draft and another dozen in bottles. Something for everyone. The roasted red and yellow pepper dip is a must, great sandwiches and salads and the pizza’s are the best and definitely not your typical pizza choices. the Chesapeake is my favorite. If you’re looking for a comfortable, friendly place to sit and enjoy good food and drink, Bullfeathers is the place to go!

NEW MANAGEMENT
Bullfeathers has reopened with new management and a new menu. They have done a great job sprucing up the place, and it has a comfortable, yet refined vibe. The menu has a nice variety of apps and entrees without being overwhelming. The food is terrific! Try the fried chicken wings with white gravy – fantastic Southern-style flavor! There’s 31 beers on the beer list, so there’s something for everyone. Can’t wait to visit again!
THE WASHINGTON POST
According to bar lore, “bullfeathers” was President Teddy Roosevelt’s favorite euphemism for another, better-known bull byproduct. When the House is in session you can bet patrons sling it around aplenty at this popular Capital Hill hangout. The saloon area, equipped with four newfangled televisions, otherwise imparts an old-time pre-Social Security and Medicare mood. Count on pub grub and occasional beer specials.
